So it's been way too long since I shared a bit of what I've done the past 2 years.
Let's rectify this.
I did this 2 years ago for a queens magazine. I volunteered to make a cover for thier first issue. It was a lot of fun but the editor who asked me to do it in this style told me she changed her mind and wanted something else after I did it. Couldn't believe it. I told her she can piss up a rope and if she didn't want this for the cover she's not getting it. I'll put it in a book of other images like the barber chair and gas pump.
Since September I've done... 29 windows(4 more by the end of the week), Trimmed 9 christmas trees(10 if you count a friend's Halloween costume), did 7 posters, a 48 page festival guidebook, a 24 page comic, 2 of my downtown art things that are near finished, two t-shirt designs(one more half done as i type this), 1 dance-club invitation, 1 set of sexy fashion show invitations.
Now believe it or not, I used to be a funny guy. The problem is I don't have the best memory, so I usually forget anything funny I say and they get lost in the sands of time, sometimes brought up again at parties where get quoted and laugh at said quote blithely unaware I was the originator.
But here's two zingers I felt kinda proud of enough to note:
Rachel : So have you ever been in a threesome? Me : *Thinks about it for a second* Does hooking up with a schizophrenic count?
Nick : *whining about something stupid* Me: *Rubbing fingers together* "Know what this is?" Nick: "The world smallest violin?" Me: "Yup! Top of the line, a Strata-idon'tcareious."
In other more awesome news Erin has released my christmas present of a year and a half ago and let me tell you it was worth the wait...
She also recently won a well deserved award for being talented and smart in regards to being an aspiring game artist. Be sure to give her props for that if you visit her site.
While looking for pictures to illustrate my St. Patty's hangover, I found this little nugget. This was what real love in the 70's looked like. So Intense. So... crippling. (As in they look like cripples. Get my subtlety?)
I've pretty much stopped updating this live-journal for various reasons. Mostly because nobody posted much in response to my content and were mostly just using LJ as a public message board for me, not unlike a face-book wall post, but easier to miss.
I also wore out my digital camera and didn't feel like I had much to share.
HOWEVER! I just had to mention that I'm in the middle of re-doing my website and very excited about it.
A little bit late for the day. But here's some DIY valentines to hand out. Just print them on a card stock or even normal paper. Cut em out about a millimeter from the edge and fold em over.
I've been working hard in a understaffed christmas at what may have been the busiest retail store downtown this year. Then spending most of my free time in the company of friends + new girlfriend.
But now the rush is over and I have time to recoil, regroup and drink by ass off for the next week!
I will no doubt post a more entertaining picture montage for the week, but right now I have a play date with Eli and Ada.
Moving and instillation went a lot smoother than last year. In my(shared) opinion it also looks much more professional. This was also a cool way to spend some time with my father and Brother this month.
Window things are going well now. Looks better than I hoped.
I'm not sharing as much with what I'm doing as last time I did the Minotaur one, most people already knew too much about it to have much to say when it went in. and thats when I was hoping to blow people away. :P
But yes. Tools were used. The ones you plug in and have to be careful of your fingers with.
Okay... here's a teaser of a favorite part:
Now I gotta jet and work on S&R's last window to make it look better for the Santa claus parade weekend. I'm hungry too. Better pick up some Snickers on the way. Cause Snickers always satisfies.
The Fishie pointed this out to me today, she's always good for awesome videos on the internet.
I've been working hard on making this Minotaur window most kick ass for Friday. 'm sure after installing, next week will be chuck full of drinking and hangouts.
